Tom Florio is a media executive with a remarkable track record of elevating brands to record levels of profitability. He is an expert in producing content that drives commerce while improving the value proposition of the global enterprise. With over 30 years of running media companies, Florio has managed brilliant, world-renowned talent while strengthening a professional network of editors, advertisers and media partnerships, as the Publishing Director of Condé Nast, Tom Florio was responsible for Vogue, Teen Vogue, Bon Apetít, and Condé Nast Traveler. Tom Florio joined Vogue in February 2002, where he increased the magazine’s market share, developed multi-media initiatives in digital, TV and film, created the in-house ad agency, Vogue Studio, and became the world’s leading fashion magazine in advertising revenue and circulation. Under Tom Florio, Vogue published the largest issues in its history, which generated more ad pages than any monthly consumer magazine. The historic September 2007 issue is the subject of RJ Cutler’s documentary, The September Issue. Additionally, Tom Florio launched vogue.tv, the first broadband video content that could be shopped and shared. Prior to joining Vogue, Tom Florio was the Publisher of GQ. Under his direction, the GQ brand expanded into network television, the internet, and celebrity event marketing, resulting in record revenues and profits. In his 25 years at Condé Nast, Tom Florio also served as president of The New Yorker and was a member of the launch team of Condé Nast Traveler, at the latter of which he served as publisher and produced three television programs based on the magazine’s content. Most recently, Tom Florio was a CEO of Advanstar Fashion Group. His responsibilities included overseeing Magic, the largest apparel trade show in the U.S. Under Tom Florio, the Fashion Group, grew 14% top line and 33% bottom line in just 24 months, which strengthened the business for its exit event. The Business of Fashion (BoF500) recognized Tom Florio, as one of the 500 Most Important People in Fashion for 2013/2014. In 2015 he became a member of the Board of Directors of BoF.
